...Be still. week six.

He wrapped his heart carefully with beautiful paper
& ribbon & his eyes sparkled with the thought of
unwrapping it together with me....

...2.22.15...

 ...bird photo by joanne rose.

We sat in the dark, holding hands
& let the sky pull us up into
a million stars & it was quiet
for a long time & then you said
They’re more beautiful tonight
than any stars I’ve seen before
& I could only nod & wonder if
this is how it always is when you
let yourself love enough to become
the world you see.
~storypeople

i patiently sit.
with my cup of coffee.
waiting.
for a morning.
when i can walk out on the deck.
with my feet bare.
to breathe in the warmth.
of spring.
enjoy the moments.
welcome to coffee hour.
welcome to this Sunday morning.
just BE.

...Be still. week five...

“Real isn't how you are made,' said the Skin Horse. 'It's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real.'

'Does it hurt?' asked the Rabbit.

'Sometimes,' said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. 'When you are Real you don't mind being hurt.'

'Does it happen all at once, like being wound up,' he asked, 'or bit by bit?'

'It doesn't happen all at once,' said the Skin Horse. 'You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand.”
― Margery WilliamsThe Velveteen Rabbit

week five.
exploring light.
i love light.
i have around seventy.
old, peely paint.
warbled surfaced mirrors.
while i love the light.
my furnishings are dark.
therefore, my pictures.
inside the house.
are dark.
that's where the mirrors come into play.
i am so enjoying
BE'ing still.
enjoy the moments.
just BE.

...2.15.15...

They
 drove
 south
 one
 winter
 until
 they
 could
 stand
 outside
with
 no
 coats
 on
& we never saw them again.
~storypeople

i attempted.
to photograph.
a bubble.
in the -seventeen degree weather today.
but it didn't work.
the calm today.
with the added bonus of the sun.
is beautiful.
in contrast to the blowing snow of yesterday.
but i find myself.
lacking inspiration today.
morning coffee didn't even work.
i am guessing i need warmth.
i am a sun child.
i am a green grass child.
i am a robins singing child.
i am a warm breeze, sitting on the porch, in my rocker child.
time for some quiet reflection today perhaps.
perhaps continue to breathe in still life.
through my lens.
a
 dark spring green.
chartreuse shaded violet.
golden brown.
 day.
to bring my inside warmth outward.
(as it certainly isn't working the other way around.)
welcome to coffee hour.
welcome to this Sunday morning.
just BE.

Action Plan

1. Stand up & do the thing

...be still. week three...

It takes awhile
to see this, but
there’s only one
hard decision
you have to
make:
will you trust
your own heart
to lead?
& that will give you
your whole life
no matter what
you decide.
~storypeople

week three.
trust the process.
listen.
breathe.
just BE.

...2.1.15...

my inspiration, my heart, my friend til our last breath.
janet.

my heart.
feels the green beneath my feet.
the yellow warmth of the dandelion.
but my reality is cold tones.
of winter's grey.
so i will twirl to the music in my heart like a butterfly.
i will.
listen and laugh with the trees.
i will.
 enjoy the moments.
i wish.
for you the same.
welcome to coffee hour.
welcome to this Sunday morning.
just BE.
