...9.29.13...

week twenty-three
my submission of circle.

“I have come to accept the feeling of not knowing where I am going.
And I have trained myself to love it.
Because it is only when we are suspended in mid-air with no landing in sight,
that we force our wings to unravel and alas begin our flight.
And as we fly, we still may not know where we are going to.
But the miracle is in the unfolding of the wings.
You may not know where you're going,
but you know that so long as you spread your wings, the winds will carry you.”
~ C. JoyBell C. ~

fall is putting on quite the display.
and mother nature has blessed us with beautiful days.
the warmth and sun will continue into next week.
this morning i still hear a lone robin.
as i breathe in her sound.
i am suspended in mid-air.
 the craziness of this life.
stops.
i can simply fly on the winds.
let my spirit soar.
breathe in.
enjoy the moments.
welcome to coffee hour.
welcome to this Sunday morning.
just BE.

...the capacity to live...

"Every morning, when we wake up,
we have twenty-four brand-new hours to live.
What a precious gift!
We have the capacity to live in a way that these twenty-four hours
will bring peace, joy, and happiness
 to ourselves and others"
~ Thich Nhat Hanh ~

this is an apple tree.
that i climbed often as a child.
mostly to pick the best apple.
before it hit the ground.
to meet the fate of bruising.
it goes through each season.
bearing no fruit, no leaves.
it has no leaves to drop in the fall.
yet in death.
it stands proud.
it still brings my heart joy.
enjoy the moments.
just BE.

...9.22.13...

two sounds of autumn are unmistakable
the hurrying rustle of crisp leaves blown along the street...
by a gusty wind,
and the gabble of a flock of migrating geese.
Hal Borland

the first day of fall.
don't look now autumn.
your color is showing.

...every hidden cell is throbbing with music and life...

If a man walks in the woods for love of them half of each day,
he is in danger of being regarded as a loafer.
But if he spends his days as a speculator, shearing off those woods
and making the earth bald before her time,
he is deemed an industrious and enterprising citizen.
~Henry David Thoreau

i pick.
hands down.
being regarded as a loafer.

...week twenty-two of 52 photos project...

week twenty-two
{in my hands}

“It’s not that we have to quit
this life one day, but it’s how
many things we have to quit
all at once: music, laughter,
the physics of falling leaves,
automobiles, holding hands,
the scent of rain, the concept
of subway trains... if only one
could leave this life slowly!”

amen.

beinvolved.

life is not a path of coincidence, happenstance, and luck,
but rather an unexplainable, meticulously charted course
for one to touch the lives of others
and make a difference in the world
