this is the dandelion...i guess you would call it.
on steroids.
maybe it's a wild dandelion.
the spent weed.
is pretty 3 inches in diameter.
very cool!!!!

i walk
without flinching
through the burning cathedral
of the summer.
my bank of wild grass
is majestic and full of music.
it is a fire
that solitude
presses against my lips.

i once.
had a friend.
tell me.
my gardens were chaotic.
to which i replied.
that is the way i like it.
there is no rhyme or reason.
it just is.
the annuals.
are potted.
but the yucca.
the milkweed.
the wild daisy.
the queen anne's lace.
the black-eyed susans.
the tiger lilies.
they come up.
 and happily just are.
which goes a loooonggg way.
to helping me.
just be.
i mean.
look at my back deck photos.
if that doesn't.
make you stop.
and want to give thanks.
for all that is.
i don't know what to tell ya.
as the rain.
now begins to.
gently fall.
welcome to coffee hour.
welcome to this Sunday morning.
just BE.

...peace with you...

be at peace
with yourself and your own soul
 then heaven and earth
will be at peace with you.
 ~Saint Jerome

the evening shadows.
last night.
brought peace.
to mind.
as i sat and watched.
the sun go down.
breathe in.
the clean air of possibilities today.
breathe in.
the moments.
just BE.

you don't have to deserve your mother's love.
you have to deserve your father's.
Robert Frost
the lightning.
flashed last night.
as distant thunder rolled.
the breeze coming.
through the window.
made for peaceful slumber.
the earth is soaking.
up the water.
as it had a long overdue thirst.
dust has settled.
and robins hop happily.
about the wet grass.
this rain brings calm.
it is a contrast to yesterday.
and yet.
this soul is content.
it is Father's day.
happy Father's day to all.
but especially to my favorite...
my dad.
welcome to coffee hour.
welcome to this Sunday morning.
just BE.

...until you decide...

this is a giant block
of whatever is most difficult
for you to carry & trust me on this,
you'll carry it more times
than you can count
until you decide that's exactly
what you want to do most

& then it won't weigh
a thing anymore.
brian andreas

many backyard shadows today.
coffee is with.
a happy soul this morning.
the sun.
is shining.
the birds.
are singing.
the rocker is creaking.
the butterfly.
is fluttering.
the coffee.
is hot.
and i .
am content.
may you be happy in your space today.
may you have a happy soul.
just BE.

he told me the best
way to make coffee
was to add an egg,
so i did & he looked
at the strands floating
in his cup & decided
to have tea instead.

don't you hear it? she asked
& i shook my head no
& then she started to dance
& suddenly there was music everywhere
& it went on for a very long time
& when i finally found words
all i could say was
thank you.
..."easy like a Sunday mornin'"...
these were my views.
from the back porch rocker.
with my coffee.
this morning.
and that song whirled around.
 in my head.
i took the "mostly true" book.
by brian andreas.
from the self.
and found this second story.
this is how my Sunday morning feels.
sitting there.
with my coffee.
suddenly, there was music.
sitting there.
the music went on for a very long time.
sitting there.
the words.
thank YOU.
came to me.
welcome to coffee hour.
welcome to this Sunday morning.
just BE.

...length and shadow of our own souls...

because everything we say and do
is the length and shadow of our own souls,
our influence is determined by the quality of our being.
Dale Turner
i love how.
the flutterby's body.
created his shadow.
on his wing.
oh the joys of.
a summer yard.
it is back.
like an old friend.

Friday, June 8, 2012 function mode again...

I remember we sat in the swing on the front porch
& as the dusk came on us like a song,
dark throated & sweet,
he told me about the beginning when we had bones of light
& hair that burned like the sun
I asked what happened then? &
I felt him floating there in the soft dark
& finally he said we forgot & I said I never would,
 but sometimes I do &
I understand now why he put his arm around me
 & said nothing more.

i had.
three hundred photos.
that i have taken.
while my computer.
was away.
these are just some of them.
the people in computer land.
did not have to reinstall my operating system.
which is good.
now i don't have to redo everything over.
note to self.
when you are going away.
don't second guess yourself.
always unplug!!
see you all tomorrow for sss.
just BE.
