...2.27.11...

without continual growth and progress,
such words as improvement,
achievement,
and success have no meaning.
- Benjamin Franklin

parent's night.
her final basketball games are winding down.

coffee in the same spot as last week...
change?
indeed.
most people can look back over the years
and identify a time and place
at which their lives changed significantly.
whether by accident or design,
these are the moments when,
because of a readiness within us
and a collaboration with events occurring around us,
we are forced to seriously reappraise ourselves
and the conditions under which we live
and to make certain choices
that will affect the rest of our lives.
- Frederick F. Flack

she has crossed
another milestone.
and she gently took us by the hand.
and we went with her.
she is strong.
she is confident.
she is beautiful.
her spirit shines in everything she does.
don't cry because it's over...
smile because it was.
here's to what is to come.
as it is suppose to be.
and when it's time for her
to let go and fly.
we will proudly do so.
welcome to coffee hour.
welcome to this Sunday morning.
just BE.

She is beautiful...and I can't imagine when, in three short years, that will happen to me :) bittersweet...but, like you said, what it is suppose to be!!

Not being a parent I can only imagine what it must feel like but you've given a whole lot to go on. your daughter so clearly has the both of her parents residing in her soul. thanks for sharing such intimacy and joy.
